I have heard this in several different versions. Some have said that the guy was an insurance adjuster, some that he was a politician, etc.

I doubt anyone would try to make such a claim. If they did, and they were a lawyer, surely they would have thought of the possibility of fraud or arson charges being brought against them.

A law license and your career would be a large trade off for such a small amount of money.

I wonder how well a SecondLife store will work for auto insurance, as most people that are living in secondlife, don’t have real lives, and probably don’t have cars either. However it is a good marketing idea, and I commend them on that.

I expect all of the other major insurance companies to follow Unitrin into Second Life, and not just sell real world auto insurance, but offer virtual insurance to cover what people own within second life.

I think the scope of coverage under the four point test is more expansive. If something flew out the window of his vehicle–or if he had stopped to collect something that had bounced out the back of his truck–he would likely be covered under his UIM policy. Another interesting question is whether he would be covered under the PIP portion of his own policy or the PIP portion of the other driver’s policy. More on that later!
